Deeds - Hezekiah Wilcox Land

Hezekiah Wilcox transferred 147 acres, being a part of Lot 8 of the first West Division of the Patent of Wawayanda, in Orange County to his son Asa Wilcox and his son-in-law Nathan Wilcox by a deed executed on 15 January 1814 and recorded on 22 January 1814.

On 22 April 1814, Asa Wilcox [with Elizabeth, his wife] and Nathan Wilcox [with Margaret, his wife] executed a deed to transfer 20 acres [recorded on 19 March 1832], being a part of Lot 8 of the West Division of the Patent of Wawayanda to Abraham Arvine.

These two deeds identify that Hezekiah Wilcox had a son named Asa Wilcox with wife Elizabeth, and a daughter named Margaret who had married Nathan Wilcox of Minisink.

We can identify the husband of Hezekiah’s daughter, Margaret, as a son of Amos Wilcox of Minisink through other deeds in which Nathan acquired and sold land in Orange County, combined with the will of Amos Wilcox of Minisink in which he names his son, Nathan, as his administrator.
